Day 1: Jonny Zeller - Director
Colt and I woke up around 5AM to catch an early flight for one of our most exciting projects yet, a short film for Mitsubishi that will showcase their new limited edition, custom modified Evolution X. This car is a mix between style and power and I can’t wait to take it for a lap around Infineon Raceway.
Despite packing the night before, the last minute checks and a detour for sunglasses put us on the all-too-familiar path of racing to the airport to avoid missing our flight.
Instead of taking us straight to LA like we wanted, our 7AM flight took us all the way to Atlanta. After a quick layover and meeting a new photographer friend (she was quite the character), we were back on track and headed to La La Land.
The one good thing about early flights is that you can sleep the whole way. Unfortunately for us, our sleeping on the plane caused us to miss all of the action... As we exited the plane, we slowly learned about all of the drama that had unfolded during the flight. Apparently our new photographer friend, sitting a few rows in front of us, had been causing a scene and harassing one of the other passengers. She was told to stay in her seat as everyone else filtered out because the airport police were waiting for her at the end of the jetway.
From the airport we headed to Santa Monica where we relaxed a little and began the last stages of Pre-Production for the upcoming shoot. The day wasn’t all work, though. Of course we made a little time to fit in a few beers with some old friends while we were in town.
