Day Two: Monday - Travel

Its early AM in Amsterdam and Im waiting for my conection to Prague. My flight from the states was easy. Ive found that if you fly major airlines on their trade routes the planes are New, comfier, loaded with TVs and power (if you are seated towards the front of the plane).

I had planned on working on my website but then I got sucked into some (4) bad movies. Then I started stopping them to check out some cool lighting scenarios and started diagraming ideas for the shoot in czech. Its always fun to daydream like this but Ive found that the original idea I had in my head never works out.

I'm going to continue with some more tips Ive learned:

  1. Take the time to look at the iteraries you are buying on the discount sites. Long layovers stink and extra connections increase the chances of losing a bag. Cough up the extra hundred bucks and get a flight you can be psyched on.
  2. Read up online on who is flying what routes where. EG Air Canada to Asia rocks. NWA to Amsterdam and Delta to Munich are all on new planes.
  3. Airport lounges are worth their 500 bucks if you fly a lot. Free wifi, snacks, drinks, showers etc add up real quick.
  4. International phone calls can add up real quick, so I usually stick to Skype when I can. But unlimited international internet is pretty reasonable (its 20 bucks with T-Mobile), its nice to not HAVE to find wifi just to check email.
