Day Two: Sunday Today started in the bed of the Tacoma, after finding out that my name somehow slipped passed getting my own tent, I decided to shack up in the back of my pick up. Which is ok because fortunately GoLite sponsors our team, they are fine makers of sleeping bags and tents. They actually provided us with a kick ass tent too but with minimal room in the truck after every ones gear, I decided against bringing it. After all I was told I’d have a tent so why bring it. Well this is why, because now I have no roof over my head. I could sleep with the team- but two girls who just pedaled for 80km need their space. Anyways I like sleeping outside.
The day was so freaking hot I dropped a pound I think. After a 1.5-hour drive I arrived at the recommended shooting spot and hiked a few km into a lush Port Alberni forest. The trails here are amazingly beautiful, unfortunately the sun was full boar and that makes photos an ugly bitch. After I saw my team go through- earlier than expected, I headed back and a big cloud rolled in, I then shot as much as I could. In the end it worked out great and I saw a few more friends roll through so that’s always cool.
