Michael Strickland is a fine art large format film photographer based out of western Kansas. His choice of large format cameras allows him to create finely detailed large prints using traditional darkroom techniques. Michael recently released his first self published coffee table book entitled Kansas: Birth of a Vision. He is currently working on a project photographing severe thunderstorms in the prairie, which will be printed using a late 19th century photographic printing technique, a future exhibition on the largest expanse of tallgrass prairie in the United States, as well as capturing the intimate color landscapes of the southwestern United States. He currently uses Arca Swiss 8x10 and 4x5 cameras, as well as the medium format cameras Linhof Technorama 617 SIII, and Mamiya 7II.
