Explore the stunning landscapes of the Faroe Islands on this 7-day photo tour. We will visit all the iconic locations, such as Drangarnir, Mulafossar, Kallur Lighthouse, Tjornuvik and Eidi, but we will also visit loads of lesser-known hidden gems!

We will be based in Torshavn, the capital city of the Faroe Islands, giving us the perfect base to reach any location in a relatively short amount of time and take advantage of the ever-changing weather.

In February, the sun rises at around 08:15 am and sets at around 5:15 pm, giving us a good balance between night and day, and some great opportunities to capture amazing images of this stunning landscape! In order to make the most of the weather, we will sometimes prioritise shooting at sunrise or sunset, whilst other times we will prioritise shooting throughout the day to get more moody and dramatic shots.

Programm:

An exclusive landscape photography expedition into the wild heart of Kazakhstan’s Mangystau region.

This immersive 9-day workshop is designed for photographers seeking to capture surreal desert formations, sculpted canyons, vast steppe horizons, and dramatic sunrise light under expert field guidance.

Participants will photograph iconic locations including the Valley of Castles, Bozjyra Canyon, Karynzharyk Depression, and Tuzbayr Salt Flats, with focused instruction on composition, exposure control, long-exposure techniques, and creative light interpretation.

Accessing remote landscapes by 4×4 vehicles, we will camp at carefully selected photographic locations, allowing sunrise and sunset shooting in complete immersion. Two nights will be spent in comfortable hotels in Aktau (arrival and departure), while the remainder of the expedition unfolds in the wilderness — beneath expansive desert skies and some of the clearest night skies in Central Asia.

All logistics, camping equipment, and meals are fully arranged, enabling participants to focus entirely on their craft. Beyond capturing powerful imagery, photographers will refine their vision through structured field coaching, daily image reviews, and advanced post-processing guidance.

Led by George Thalassinos — internationally recognized landscape photographer, official collaborator of Fujifilm Hellas, and brand ambassador for f-stop, Gitzo, Manfrotto, and 7Artisans — this expedition blends high-level photographic mentorship with rare access to one of the most visually striking and least explored landscapes in Central Asia.

This is not simply a tour, but a true photographic expedition.

A curated photographic experience set within the untamed and luminous landscapes of Southern Sardinia.

Here, the Mediterranean reveals a different character. Wide horizons, sculpted granite, wind shaped coastlines, and crystalline water create a visual language that is both powerful and minimal. This workshop is designed for photographers who seek immersion, refinement, and a deeper connection with landscape and light.

Working in a small and intimate group, you will photograph during the most evocative moments of the day, when the island expresses its true atmosphere. From soft pastel dawns to dramatic sunsets over open sea, every session is carefully planned around weather, wind, and sea conditions to maximize photographic potential and creative interpretation.

This is not about quantity, but about presence. About slowing down, observing, and building images with intention.

Throughout the experience, you will refine composition, learn to simplify complex coastal scenes, and master the relationship between motion and stillness through advanced long exposure techniques. The focus extends beyond technique into perception, understanding how to read a landscape, anticipate light, and translate atmosphere into a compelling visual narrative.

Between field sessions, time is dedicated to discussion, image review, and refinement of vision, helping transform captured moments into expressive, finished photographs.

Southern Sardinia becomes a space for creative clarity. A place where minimalism, texture, and light converge into a powerful photographic experience.

You will leave with stronger images, a more conscious approach to landscape photography, and a deeper sensitivity to light, atmosphere, and visual balance.

An intimate photographic experience in one of the most poetic coastal landscapes in the world.

Set between the timeless villages of the Cinque Terre and the dramatic shores of the Gulf of Poets, this workshop is designed for photographers who seek a refined, immersive, and inspiring journey. Working in a small group of only six participants, you will enjoy personal guidance, space to create, and the rare luxury of time, light, and silence.

We will photograph at the most meaningful moments of the day, when the coastline reveals its true character. Each session is carefully planned around weather, sea, and atmosphere, transforming every location into an opportunity to craft deliberate and expressive images. This is not about rushing from spot to spot, but about slowing down, observing, and building photographs with intention.

Between field sessions, we will refine vision, composition, and technique, from mastering long exposures to understanding how light, water, and form interact. The focus is not only on how to capture an image, but on how to see it before it exists.

The experience is exclusive by design, yet open to any passionate photographer who wishes to elevate their craft in a curated and inspiring environment.

You will leave with stronger images, deeper awareness, and a more refined photographic approach.

DAY 1 – Arrival in Entebbe & Transfer to Hotel

Arrival at Entebbe International Airport. After meeting your English-speaking driver-guide and Esploro Travel team leader, you will taken to the hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you will do shoebill tracking in mabamba swamp.

DAY 2 – Rhinos of Ziwa & The Power of Murchison Falls

In the morning, transfer to the northern part of the country, stopping halfway at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary where we will take a short trek with the white rhinos, allowing us to observe them up close. We will arrive in Murchison Falls National Park in the afternoon. We will visit the falls from their highest point, just a few meters away: here we will have the chance to hear their powerful roar, which makes them the most powerful waterfalls in the world. Afterwards, before checking into our accommodation, we will take a Game drive in the northern sector of the Nile, where the game drives are concentrated and where we will start seeing the first wildlife..

DAY 3 – Savannah Safari

Wake up at dawn for a safari in the northern part of the Nile. Here, you may encounter animals such as Uganda kobs, buffalo, elephants, waterbucks, Jackson’s hartebeests, hyenas, hippos, giraffes, various types of monkeys and birds, and if you’re lucky, lions and leopards. You will also enjoy the stunning scenery of the savanna and Lake Albert. Lunch will be a packed meal by the banks of the Nile or at the lodge, depending on your accommodation.

DAY 4 – Murchison Falls by Kibale forest & Craters Region

This day is entirely dedicated to the journey. Departure in the morning towards Fort Portal; lunch will be at a restaurant in fortportal. The journey will be long but absolutely scenic: you will see beautiful views of Lake Albert and the Albertine Rift Valley, tea, coffee, and tobacco plantations, as well as many local villages. Arrival in the afternoon at the lodge for an afternoon crater walk to the top of the world.

DAY 5 – Queen Elizabeth National Park & Kazinga Channel

We drive south toward Queen Elizabeth National Park, watching the landscape shift from forest to open savannah. Upon arrival, we take an afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, one of East Africa’s best wildlife corridors. Expect hippos, buffalo herds, elephants at the water’s edge, and excellent birdlife. After the cruise, we settle into our lodge on the park’s edge for a relaxed evening.

DAY 6 – Chimpanzee Trekking in Kyambura or Kalinzu & Afternoon Community Walk

In the morning, we will embark on a chimpanzee trekking adventure in the Kyambura Forest or Kalinzu Forest, two forests within the savanna of the park that offer an incredible variety of vegetation. These biodiverse forests are distinct from those you will encounter later and are home to a large community of chimpanzees, which you will be able to observe up close. Sightings are guaranteed at a 90% rate. Lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon, we will take a community walk to visit a local farmer and then end with a hike to the top of twin lakes.

DAY 7: Game Drive in the Ishasha Sector, Queen Elizabeth NP & Transfer to Bwindi Ruhija Sector

In the morning, we will transfer to the south through Maramagambo Forest and arrive in the Ishasha sector by late morning. With a bit of luck, you may be able to see the “lion climbing”, lions that climb the “fig trees,” which branch out a few meters off the ground and serve as their “personal offices” during the hottest hours of the day. Lunch will be a packed meal or at a restaurant in Kihihi. Afterwards, we will begin to admire the spectacular views of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Mountains; there will be many exciting stops for photo opportunities.

DAY 8 – Bwindi: Gorilla Trekking in the Impenetrable Forest

One of the world’s great wildlife experiences. After a ranger briefing, we enter the forest in search of a habituated gorilla family. Treks vary in length depending on the group’s location, but the reward is unforgettable: an hour spent quietly observing these powerful, gentle primates in their natural home. After the trekking, we will transfer to Kisoro in the far southwest of the country.

DAY 9 – Mgahinga: Golden Monkey Trekking & Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Wake up at dawn for the transfer to Mgahinga National Park, where the golden monkey trekking will take place. The vegetation and terrain of this park differ from the previous forests and belong to the Ugandan side of the Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda. You will enjoy a unique view of the peaks of the Volcanoes National Park; be ready to take photos of bird species like the Ruwenzori Turaco, the colobus, and especially the golden monkeys, an endemic primate of this area that you will encounter along the way, living near the bamboo forest. After the trekking, we will transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 10 – Return to Entebbe & Departure

Shoebill tracking in Mabamba swamp if it was missed on the first day.In the morning, we will transfer to Entebbe for your return flight, which is expected after 5 PM. We will have lunch along the equator, where you can purchase souvenirs before heading to the airport.
