The 24-liter Guru (Goo-roo - गुरु - Teacher) starts with advanced materials: DuraDiamond® HT Nylon, Bloom® Carbon-Neutral Foam, Waterproof TPU S-Type Woven Zippers; then uses precision Laser Cut & RF Welded sub-panels and ultra-sonic finished zippers and webbing. Material Science creates the foundation for the Guru 4 AIRs, however 3500+ hours of product Ethnographic research (validation and testing from a diverse group of 245+ individuals) make the Guru 4 AIR the ultimate adaptable weatherproof daypack to keep all your gear safe and secure in every situation: airport, deep pow, alpine scramble or the yoga studio.
The GURU 4 comes in two variations, with dedicated Female and Male torso models, to ensure comfort while carrying more gear for longer. It is distinguished by the location of the backpack's logo at the bottom.
CZ: Batoh Guru jsem vzal na výlet na skotskou vrchovinu, kde jsem s ním nachodil několik desítek kilometrů. Splnil to, co jsem od něj očekával – tedy dobrou kvalitu vnějších materiálů (DuraDiamond jako u řady Mountain) a provedení spojenou s menší velikostí a hmotností. Používám techniku Fujifilm, kterou dovedu poskládat do středního ICU – jednalo se o X-T5 a X-T50 s objektivy XF16-50mmF2.8-4.8 a XF150-600mmF5.6-8 a drobným příslušenstvím (telekonvertor, filtry, baterie). V souhrnu se jedná o lehkou výbavu, což je určitě podmínkou, pokud chcete nosit tento batoh celý den. Vzhledem k absenci bederního pásu jej nemůžete přetížit, za to by vám vaše ramena a záda nepoděkovala. Se zmíněnou technikou jsem problémy nepociťoval, a to ani když ji doplnila nefotografická výbava – termoska, svačina, nesmeky či bunda. Vnější kapsy k tomuto účelu slouží dobře. Dva dny jsem dokonce na batohu nosil připnuté sněžnice. Není to něco, co bych vyloženě doporučoval, ale aspoň jsem batoh vyzkoušel na hranici možného. Osobně doporučuji batoh zatěžovat na cca 6 až 7 kilogramů, což ostatně odpovídá současným limitům řady leteckých společností. V tomto ohledu nebudete mít s batohem problém v běžných dopravních letadlech – vejde se i pod sedačku, a to i do užšího prostoru, který někdy bývá pod jedním z trojice sedadel. Tolik pozitiva. Našel by se samozřejmě i prostor ke zlepšení. Uvítal bych, kdyby postranní neodnímatelné popruhy nahradila poutka na popruhy Gatekeeper (ta jsou na přední a spodní straně, což naopak chválím). Zádový panel by z vnitřní strany mohl nabídnout menší skrytou kapsu. I s menší zátěží by se občas hodil bederní pás – je ale jasné, že by s ním byl batoh těžší a dražší. Jelikož Guru vnímám jako menší doplňkový batoh, nepovažuji nic z toho za zásadní problém. To, pro co jsem si jej pořídil, plní výborně – je to odolný, dobře vypadající batoh, který můžete vzít do přírody i města a výborně se hodí na létání. Pro tento účel bych jej doporučil. Pokud potřebujete více prostoru (už se středním ICU ho v hlavním oddílu mnoho nezbývá a větší ICU použít nemůžete vůbec) a nebo trávíte hodně času v náročném terénu, jsou batohy Mountain lepší volbou. Řada Air je ale nemá nahrazovat – spíše je doplňuje. EN: I took the Guru backpack on a test trip to the Scottish Highlands where I hiked several dozen miles with it. It delivered exactly what I expected - good quality materials (DuraDiamond, same as the Mountain series) and workmanship combined with smaller size and lighter weight. I use Fujifilm gear that fits into a medium ICU - specifically the X-T5 and X-T50 with the XF16-50mmF2.8-4.8 and XF150-600mmF5.6-8 lenses, plus some small accessories (the teleconverter, filters, batteries). Overall, it’s a lightweight setup, which is definitely a requirement if you plan to carry this backpack all day. The lack of a hip belt means you can't overload it - your shoulders and back wouldn't thank you. I had no problem carrying this gear, even when I added non-photographic equipment like a thermos, snacks, microspikes or a jacket. The exterior pockets work well for this. For two days I even carried snowshoes strapped to the backpack. It’s not something I would really recommend, but at least I got to test the backpack close to its limits. Personally, I recommend keeping the load around 6 to 7 kilograms, which happens to be the carry-on limit for many airlines. You won’t have any problems with the backpack on regular flights - it fits under the seat, even in the tight space you sometimes find under one of the triple seats. Of course, there’s always room for improvement. I would like to see the non-removable side straps replaced with loops for the Gatekeeper straps (which are already on the front and bottom, which I commend). The back panel could also have a small hidden pocket on the inside. Even with a lighter load, a hip belt would come in handy at times - although it’s clear that adding one would make the backpack heavier and more expensive. Since I see the Guru as a smaller, complementary backpack, I don’t see any of these as critical issues. The Guru does exactly what I bought it for - it’s a durable, good looking backpack that works just as well in the outdoors as it does in the city, and it’s great for flights. I would recommend it for that purpose. If you need more space (there’s not much left in the main compartment with a medium ICU, and a larger ICU wouldn’t fit at all), or if you spend a lot of time in challenging terrain, the Mountain backpacks are a better choice.
CzechiaSo happy I got this bag. This will be the first bag made for camera gear that I will use. I am going to take some guided photography trips(Galapagos this spring) to learn and travel at the same time so I was told to get a dedicated camera bag. I purchased a gently used Peak Design bag and decided that I did not want a bag without a few exterior pockets. Maybe because I am used to more traditional backpacks. Of course this Guru Air 4 has not been used yet, but a few things stand out besides my initial reaction on removing it from the box that is was too small haha.... First is the top notch construction and layout. And the weight is shockingly light! And it still feels so durable. With the medium ICU I fit 2 camera bodies Fuji xh2 and xh2s. the 16-55,50-140, and 100-400 and can attach one body to any of the lenses. When attached to the 100-400 it fills the ICU from top to bottom. there is also a few small spaces left for a pouch of batteries and such. The above to ICU is enough room for rain gear and a fleece. The outside pockets are as expected with some compartments for my large IPAD and a space for a book and my large head phones. I see myself attaching a tripod on the bottom, water bottle on one side and maybe some sunscreen and what not on the other side and leaving for an all day adventure. And if I need to I could strap a small 3 liter pouch on the outside. That's about as much gear I will ever want to lug around. For this bag to be offered with the removable ICU now for $159 seems a huge bargain!
United StatesI bought this pack for a lightweight alternative to my Ajna but was slightly unsure whether it would be big enough. I was to be pleasantly surprised… for a seemingly small pack, it holds an amazing amount of gear. The main compartment holds 2 Fuji XT-5 bodies (one with a 16-55mm fitted and the other with a 50-140mm) as well as a pack of filters and an extra lens or two. Stashed away in the other pockets is a waterproof jacket, spare batteries, gloves etc. The build quality, ease of use and materials came as no surprise though all are up to the usual excellent f-Stop standards. So if you are looking for a small, light day pack, you won’t be disappointed with the Guru 4, it punches well above it’s weight!
GBDer Rucksack ist sehr gut verarbeitet und trägt sich angenehm. Innen ist genug Platz für mein Fotoequipment für den ganzen Tag (wenn ich die Kamera nicht im Rucksack habe). Dabei habe ich hier ca. 4 Objektive und Zubehör im Rucksack. Meine Z8 passt aber schlecht rein wenn noch Objektive drin sind. Das war aber auch nicht das Ziel, wollte einen kleinen Rucksack für Objektive und Zubehör. Dafür ist der Rucksack super. Auch Wasserdicht ist er, soweit ich das sehen konnte. Etwas Regen über den Tag hat ihm nichts ausgemacht. Empfehlenswert.

Hemos estado probando la Gurú 4 AIR estas últimas semanas en nuestras salidas al campo y más urbanas y no podemos estar más contentos. Robusta, con la textura DuraDiamond que hace que sea una mochila indestructible y que podamos trabajar bajo cualquier condición climática sin miedo a que pueda comprometer el equipo. Elegante, portable, cómoda y adaptable a tope, nos ha parecido una mochila ideal para equipos más pequeños o para disciplinas que requieren objetivos más reducidos. La verdad es que con el ICU small funciona de maravilla y permite un espacio extra para llevar otros gadgets. Nos ha parecido una solución ideal para tamaños más modestos. Se ha convertido en una compañera inseparable en nuestras aventuras.

the cute blue Guru is a perfect buddy for city photo tours. the size fiits smooth in the overhead department or under the seat of the airlines. Due to the blue colour, that very unusual fpr photo bags, nobody expects expensive camera gear inside. The bag is large enough to store an ipad, camera with 2 lenses, a rain jacket and a water bottle on the outside. highly recommended.

I was very excited to see an update to the Guru bags, as the Dura Diamond material is so durable and easy to maintain, and this bag does not disappoint! I have it packed for my trip to Iceland with 2 Sony camera bodies, and 4 lenses, as well as extra batteries, filters, remotes, and extra memory cards. I also have a couple of Insta360 cameras packed inside too. I chose the Slope Medium, which fits and is snug, but perfect for the gear I am carrying. It fits easily in any overhead compartment and even fit under the seat. I feel nice knowing however I travel, my gear remains with me. It is comfortable and loaded up came in at 16 lbs, but it feels like it isn't even there. I chose the Magma color because it just looks pretty bada$$ in my opinion. It may only be 24L, but it carries a lot of gear. Super bag!
