    Is the Dyota Mask covered under f-stop Warranty?

    In addition to the standard f-stop 45-day satisfaction policy, there is a 6 month workmanship warranty for the Dyota Mask to cover any defects in material. For additional information on warranty terms and filing a claim, please see our Warranty page.

    Can this item be Returned or Exchanged?

    Our 45-day satisfaction policy is offered for the return of unworn/unused masks in the original packaging. Think of buying a mask like buying a bathing suit. You don’t want to try on a suit (or buy a mask) that someone has already used. Connect with our Support Team for any assistance.

    What is bluesign® certified?

    The bluesign® technologies group collaborates with factories and brands to reduce the human and environmental impact of textile-based production. They facilitate education to improve manufacturing processes to better utilize resources, ensure occupational health and safety of workers by eliminating hazardous chemicals and build safer working environments.     What is AG+ ION Technology?

    Ag+ (Silver) Ion technology, such as the DuPont SILVADUR™ used in the Dyota masks, acts as an antimicrobial agent to effectively control bacteria growth by delivering silver nanoparticles to organisms which land on the treated fabric. These ions safely kill microbes and retain antimicrobial properties even after multiple washes. You can read more about SILVADUR™ here.

    What is Q.A.S?

    Quaternary Ammonium Salts, otherwise known as Q.A.S., is a smart antimicrobial treatment used in textiles. The properties of this compound provides a durable antibacterial defense.

    Why are these masks more expensive than other disposable masks?

    In addition to being a washable and reusable item, the Dyota Mask uses bluesign® certified fabrics, incorporates advanced antimicrobial technologies such as Q.A.S. and DuPont SILVADUR™, and utilizes ultrasonic welding to provide longevity and comfort.

    How do I clean my mask and how often should I clean it?

    The simplest solution is to hand wash with mild soap and hot water and let air dry. Avoid applying any harsh chemicals which can degrade the materials and effectiveness of the mask. There are currently no strict guidelines on the frequency of cleaning fabric masks; general recommendations are to wash daily if worn frequently.

    What is the benefit of three layers?

    The Q.A.S. outer layer helps block large particles and kill bacteria, while the dense polyester center layer reduces particles and liquid droplet penetration. The inner knit provides a comfortable and breathable layer treated with DuPont SILVADUR™ for extra antimicrobial protection.

    Should I use a Mask?

    Unfortunately, there isn’t an easy answer to the question. We follow the CDC guidelines and most governmental suggestions.

    Will the Dyota Silver ION Mask protect me from COVID-19?

    NO. Cloth masks help to protect other people, not the wearer. People with COVID-19 can spread the virus before symptoms appear, and some people can have COVID-19 and never show symptoms. In both cases people can unknowingly spread the virus. If you are an unknowingly sick person, wearing a mask can help to protect others and slow transmission in our communities.

    The f-stop modular system is comprised of two parts – the insert and the pack.     My bank account shows a duplicate charge after I placed an order on your site, what happened?

    Order payments are preauthorized and held as a pending charge until the order is processed. This may be interpreted as a duplicate charge. Once processed the amount is charged in full and any pending authorizations will clear out.

    Can bundles be customized? Is it possible to return items that I purchased as part of a bundle?

    Certain bundle adjustments can be accommodated by connecting through our Live Chat. If you wish to return an item from a bundle, the remaining items from the bundle will be charged the original price due to voiding the discount.

    Are f-stop packs waterproof?

    Our backpacks are weather resistant, not waterproof, which indicates protection from submersion. They can be exposed to light rain or snow for a short amount of time, however using a Rain Cover will add more protection.

    Are f-stop Camera Inserts waterproof?

    f-stop Camera Inserts are weather-resistant, not waterproof. The insert provides padded protection and organization while carrying inside the pack or in storage. It’s not intended to be carried long-term as a stand-alone solution.

    What’s the difference between Ultralight (UL), Mountain Series, and DuraDiamond®️?

    f-stop Ultralight (UL) packs are more compact than Mountain Series packs and offer a solution when nimble will be important. These camera packs are designed for camera gear and kits that are not very heavy, up to 7kg/15 lb, because they do not have heavily padded shoulder harnesses are made of ripstop nylon covered with 120 DWR coating, while the Mountain series have a 420 DWR coating.

    The UL series is designed for shorter day trips and weather conditions that are not very harsh, while the Mountain Series can be used for longer trips and can be exposed to light rain for a small amount of time. The UL packs are meant for camera gear that is not very heavy, up to 7kg/15 lb. The biggest ICU that is recommended for the UL packs is the medium-sized one, because of weight limitations.

    Both series have a harness system that is designed to help you better distribute the weight on your shoulders and waist. The 3 biggest packs from the mountain Series have extra padded shoulder straps that ease the weight on your shoulders. They also have an internal multipurpose sleeve that can fit up to a 17’’ laptop, while the rest of the packs can fit a 15’’ laptop.

    What’s the maximum weight supported for each pack?

    The maximum comfort carry weight varies between packs as follows:

    UL Series:

    • Guru UL/Kashmir UL – 5-6kg (11-12 lbs)
    • Loka UL – 7kg (15 lbs)

    Mountain Series:

    What does the listed pack volume include?

    The listed measured pack volume includes all exterior pockets and compartments.

    Do you have a pack designed for taller people?

    We do not design packs specifically for taller people however all our packs from the Mountain Series and UL series can be adjusted to fit any body build, size, and physique.

    What can be attached to the MOLLE system of the packs?

    MOLLE (modular lightweight load-carrying equipment) is a universal attachment system compatible with thousands of accessories, including the f-stop Mano bottle holder, Lens Barrels, or the Navin Pouch.

    What is the difference between Slope and Shallow Camera Inserts?

    Shallow inserts have a uniform external depth of 5’’/12.7 cm throughout. The Slope insert bottom depth extends on the deeper side to 7’’/17.8cm making it suitable for gripped camera configurations.

    Which f-stop rain cover should I buy?

    The size of the rain cover depends on the backpack that you are using. Small Rain Cover fits the Guru UL. Large Rain Cover fits the Kashmir UL, Loka UL, Lotus, AJNA, Tilopa, Sukha, and SHINN.

    How do I attach the Navin to my pack?

    The Navin can be used as a chest-carry rig by connecting two pairs of Gatekeeper straps (one pair attached to the top part of the pack, around the shoulder straps and the other pair should be attached to the bottom of the sides of the pack) Alternatively the Navin can be attached on the hip belt using the MOLLE system.

    Where can I place a hydration bladder?

    Our Ultra Light and Mountain Series packs can fit a hydration bladder into the main compartment’s drop-in multi-purpose sleeve, with the drinking hose routed through the H20 port.

    Do f-stop packs fit avalanche shovels or full avalanche gear in them?

    The front vertical pockets on the Mountain Series and DuraDiamond®️ packs are sized to fit folding avalanche shovels, transceivers, and folding probes.

    Does f-stop offer an avalanche airbag or compatibility with third-party products?

    At this time we have no plans to introduce an avalanche airbag and cannot guarantee compatibility with third-party products.

    Does f-stop produce bags for drones?

    Yes, f-stop does in fact produce bags for drones. We currently offer the DuraDiamond® Drone Case in both large and small options.

    Can I use a Camera Insert with the Dalston pack?

    The f-stop Dalston is part of our Urban Series which includes a removable padded camera compartment. Select small-size inserts can be carried inside the Dalston, however, is not compatible with gear accessibility.

    Can I carry a laptop inside the backpack?

    Yes, in most instances you can carry a laptop inside the backpack. Laptops or devices up to 15’’ (or 16” MacBook Pro) can be carried in the main compartment of all f-stop packs, placed behind the camera insert facing the front of the pack.

    The SHINN, SUKHA, and TILOPA packs include a padded drop-in multipurpose sleeve, and the TILOPA DuraDiamond®️ and SHINN DuraDiamond®️ packs include a padded drop-in sleeve on the back panel organizer.

    Will a tripod fit inside the bag?

    The collapsed tripod size will determine whether it can be carried in or outside of the pack. Compact tripods can fit inside the main compartment laid across the insert or stored inside zipper pockets. Standard and larger size tripods are carried on the outside of the pack, attached to either side or center of the pack using Gatekeeper Straps. Enhanced tripod carry is available using our Tripod Bags purchased separately through our Accessories shop. (https://shop.fstopgear.com/other-products/accessories/)

    Can I attach camping gear to my f-stop bag?

    Yes, it is possible to attach camping gear. A tent or a sleeping bag can be attached to the bottom or top of the pack, using Gatekeeper Straps. Alternatively, the front straps and side compression straps (on some of our backpack models ) can be used to attach a variety of equipment to the packs.

    What is the “Nine Iron” mentioned in the Rain Cover description?

    “Nine Iron” is the color name for the Rain Cover. It is a deep steel grey tone.

    Carry-On - Is the Tilopa 50L suitable?

    The Tilopa 50L is certainly suitable for carry-on purposes with air travel. Many of our customers have successfully used the Tilopa as a carry-on while traveling. However, the results will vary depending on the airline, plane size, and how the bag is packed. As always, the loaded camera insert can be removed from the pack and hand carried if the airline requires the pack to be checked in. Other users have successfully carried their larger SHINN 80L backpacks on planes. With this in mind, the f-stop Tilopa 50L is relatively "carry-on" friendly.

    Is the Dalston pack available in Navy Blue color?

    The Dalston Navy Blue color was discontinued as part of product evolution. The Dalston is still available in Aloe Green and Nasturtium Orange colors.

    Is the Red Bull AJNA pack still available?

    The Red Bull AJNA was a limited-edition backpack and is no longer available for purchase.

    Is the Satori EXP pack still available?

    The 62L Satori EXP was discontinued in 2015 and succeeded by the SUKHA 70L pack.

    Is the Malibu Blue color available?

    The Malibu Blue color was discontinued as part of product evolution and no longer available.

    Are the Large Slope and Large Shallow Camera Inserts available?

    The Large Slope and Large Shallow camera inserts were discontinued as part of product evolution and are no longer available for purchase. The Pro Large Insert is currently available for this size range.

    Does f-stop offer a top-loading camera insert?

    What’s the purpose of the hole in the front pocket of my f-stop pack?

    The front pocket weep hole is a drainage feature to divert liquid away and outside your pack in case of a spill.

    I lost my sternum strap, what can I do?

    Are broken buckles on packs covered under warranty?

    While our warranty does not cover broken buckles, we can send you a replacement for self-repair if available. Please relay your order number and images of the damaged buckle through Live Chat so we can arrange for a replacement part to be provided.

    f-stop would like to offer functional repairs on any of our gear. However, solutions may vary for each circumstance. Reach out via Live Chat or the Support form, and provide your order number, product issue, and supporting images to help us find a suitable solution.

    Warranty policy when purchasing from a retailer?

    The warranty policy when purchasing from a retailer is that they should directly support you with any issues towards a satisfactory resolution. Our official retailers are instructed to handle the warranty procedures. Please reach out to the retailer from where you have purchased the pack and ask them to guide you through the process. If they are not willing to cooperate with you, please provide us with the correspondence, photos of the damage, and proof of purchase. We will take over from there.
