Chris Vultaggio is an adventure photographer and filmmaker who thrives where uncertainty meets awe. From committing alpine routes to remote backcountry expeditions, he immerses himself in the environments he documents—capturing the grit, beauty, and raw emotion at the heart of human-powered adventure. His global portfolio of work blends cinematic intensity with an insider’s perspective, creating imagery that feels lived-in, immediate, and alive.
Beyond the lens, Chris is a dedicated nonprofit collaborator, partnering with mission-driven organizations to elevate stories rooted in conservation, access, and community impact. His photography and films have been widely published, and has been recognized for his work as both an advocate and artist.
At its core, Chris’s work is about more than adventure—it’s about inspiring deeper connection to wild places and the responsibility to protect them.
Along with his wife Alexis and son Wilder, Chris is lucky to call the Shawangunk mountains his home base. Here he keeps pushing his limits as both a climber and creative, and is deeply entrenched in community as a longtime Board Member of the Gunks Climbers Coalition, a volunteer EMT, and an impassioned photography guide.
