Ladakh

Morup Namgail is a wildlife photographer, filmmaker, conservationist, and passionate host of immersive snow leopard experiences. Born and raised in the remote Himalayan village of Uley, Ladakh, his deep connection to the mountains and wildlife was forged from childhood.

After training in photography and filmmaking in Delhi, Morup worked with leading production houses including Riverbank Studios and Felis Creations. He has contributed to several acclaimed international projects, such as Gyamo – Queen of the Mountains, National Geographic’s Wild Cats of India, and Into the Himalayas — the world’s first 360° film featuring wild snow leopards.

He is the Director of Shan at Uley, the family-run, eco-conscious wildlife lodge established by his father, renowned snow leopard spotter Tsewang Norboo. Nestled at 13,000 feet in Uley, the lodge offers authentic, responsible experiences that combine expert-led tracking with cultural immersion and genuine Himalayan hospitality. Under Morup’s leadership, Shan at Uley has become a model for community-based conservation, where guests not only seek the elusive snow leopard but also gain a deeper understanding of the fragile mountain ecosystem and the traditional way of life that protects it.

In 2023, Morup co-founded the Ladakhsi Podcast with scholar Padma — Ladakh’s first podcast in the Ladakhi language. It serves as a powerful platform for sharing local stories, traditional ecological knowledge, and conversations on wildlife and conservation, further strengthening cultural pride and environmental awareness in the region.

Africa - Zambia - Explore South Luangwa - Leopards and more!

There are few places in Africa as raw and rewarding as South Luangwa National Park. Known as the home of the walking safari and one of the best places on the continent to see the elusive Leopard, this is where patience and passion for wildlife truly pay off. Set along the winding Luangwa River, the park is bursting with life — from vast herds of elephant and buffalo to hippos crowding the waterways, and predators never far away. But it’s the leopards that steal the show. South Luangwa has one of the highest densities in Africa, offering incredible opportunities to observe and photograph these solitary cats as they move silently through the bush or rest in the trees above. Days are shaped by golden light and anticipation. Early morning drives, slow explorations of the bush, and evenings that come alive with nocturnal action. Whether you’re behind the camera or simply taking it all in, every moment feels immersive and real. This isn’t just a photo safari, it’s a proper wilderness experience. Wild, authentic, and unforgettable.
