Q: Is the waist/hip belt removable?
A: No, it is not possible to remove the hip belt.
Q: Is the TILOPA 50L allowed in the air plane cabins?
A: That really depends on the airline, however we haven't had issue with the TILOPA 50L fitting in the overhead bin. A lot of our users have traveled via many airlines using the TILOPA 50L without issues. Always double-check weight restrictions with the relevant airline before hand. But usually adopting the following tricks can help to ensure that you have no issues. (1) Don't overfill the top compartment of the bag. If the bag looks really full, then you will be more likely to possibly encounter some issues. (2) When approaching check-in desks, always carry the bag using only one shoulder strap. If you are fully harnessed up with all the straps, then it will give the impression that the bag is heavy.
Q: Will the Pro Large ICU and the Drone Case - Large fit inside the TILOPA 50L?
A: Yes, this is a perfect combination.
Q: I removed the metal frame from the TILOPA 50L, how do I re-insert it?
A: The plastic piece on the frame can help you with the direction. The padded white side should be facing your back, and the black plastic side should be facing the inside of the Camera pack. If that doesn't help, feel free to ping us on live chat, we can connect on a video call and help further.
Q: What size bladder fits in the TILOPA 50L H2O compartment?
A: The TILOPA 50L will accommodate water bladders up to 3 liters in size.

DEIt took a while to get the right setup with the ICUs but now we can finally transport a fully rigged FX3 and accessories in the Large Pro ICU. On top of that we're rocking a small shallow ICU with the photo cameras and lenses, so everything is always with me. The straps are more than comfy, even with a higher load, and fit so well. Looking forward to the next shoots.
DEThe anticipation for my newly ordered Tilopa was immense. For nearly ten years, an f-stop Loka had been my faithful and reliable companion in landscape photography and has never disappointed me. Over time, however, my equipment grew, and I decided to upgrade to the larger Tilopa 50L with the Elite Bundle. After a few weeks of use, I can confidently say that the quality has improved significantly once again. The waterproof exterior is extremely robust and highly durable. The carrying system — shoulder straps, sternum strap, and hip belt — is exceptionally well made and generously padded. It distributes the weight evenly across the back, chest, and hips, ensuring excellent comfort even on longer outings. The only minor drawback is the metal buckle on the hip belt, which is a bit fiddly to handle — though it is extremely solid and secure. Numerous pockets — on the top, on the sides, and inside the opening flap — provide ample storage space for personal items (phone, wallet, etc.) as well as more specialized gear (laptop, memory cards). The backpack offers sufficient room for my preferred camera setup: two camera bodies, a wide-angle lens (16–24mm), a standard zoom (24–70mm), and a telephoto lens (100–400mm), along with a magnetic filter system, headlamp, various cleaning accessories, and a remote shutter release. In some cases, I also place the perfectly fitting Drone Tech Case Large (with drone) on top of the ICU, or pack weatherproof clothing instead. Thanks to the additional Small ICU included in the Elite Bundle, I am extremely flexible in how I configure the interior and can always adapt the contents of the backpack to the specific requirements of each trip. The Gatekeeper Straps, also included in the bundle, allow me to securely attach my tripod — or occasionally a jacket — to the outside of the pack. The bundle even provides a solution for rainy conditions in the form of a rain cover, which can be quickly pulled over the backpack when needed to protect the valuable equipment inside. I am confident that the Tilopa will be an exceptionally reliable and perfect companion on my future journeys — and that I will continue to appreciate its premium craftsmanship and thoughtful design every single time I use it.
DKI've only had the joy to use this backpack once so far, but it was superb and could fit all my needed gear 👍 There's so many possibilities for packing the gear that fits my needs and with the extra inserts, there's even more. My new problem is to limit myself and not pack too heavy for longer outings and hikes. When I ordered, I encountered a technical glitch and accidentally placed two orders and even before I had to do anything, the great support at F-stop saw the error and corrected it. Top notch service! So overall a great experience 😁 could not be more happy.
USThis is my third Tilopa pack in 15 years. Significant upgrades have been made in this version of the pack. The laptop storage moved to the back panel, the numerous pocket options on the back panel are also a fantastic upgrade. New pocket structure on the inside of the lid and on the inside of the big outside pocket. All of these are wonderful. The removal of straps on the sides is a little funky, but the purchase add on straps are ok. The WORST feature...and this is after 15 years of using Tilopa bags, is the new hipbelt. Its just so cumbersome. Yes, some photographers would break their past plastic belts. But, they were operational by 1 hand and in 15 years, I never broke mine. This new version requires two hands and mandates you go slow when you need to go fast. I'll live with it, but I don't like it. 99% of the rest of the pack ... can't go wrong.
ATI used my last Tilopa for over 11 years and took it all over the world. Through heat, rain, and snow, it performed flawlessly. So there was no question that my next camera backpack would be a Tilopa too.
USI’ve been using this bag for photography workshops and hiking in and around Yellowstone. The quality is extremely good and there’s a lot more space inside compared to my previous bags. Organization is easy with many ways to arrange the divider inserts.
ISIt is a big and sturdy camera bag that fits my two Sony camera bodies and four lenses, plus the Mavic 3 Pro drone with four extra batteries. Also other accessories like filters, my Valleret gloves and a room for my laptop when needed. My Anja bag was too small for all this, but it comes handy when I want to travel light.
