Join a small group of just five guests for a focused wildlife photography tour through Uganda’s most iconic landscapes.
From photographing shoebills in the wetlands of Entebbe to tracking chimpanzees in Kibale and spending time with mountain gorillas in Bwindi, this journey offers rare opportunities to capture some of Africa’s most extraordinary wildlife. Along the way, we’ll also photograph lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos on foot, and even rescued pangolins, creating a diverse and compelling portfolio.
Beyond wildlife, the experience also includes sweeping savanna landscapes, misty rainforest scenes, dramatic waterfalls, and quiet lakeside moments, along with meaningful opportunities to photograph local communities and everyday life in Uganda.
From dense forest to open plains, this workshop is designed to give you both incredible encounters and the time and space to photograph them well.
You’ll be guided throughout by a professional photographer alongside a local Ugandan guide raised in the Bwindi region, offering a deeper understanding of both the wildlife and the environment.
Day 1 : Arrival in Entebbe
Arrival in Entebbe with airport transfer and hotel check-in. Time to relax by Lake Victoria or explore the botanical gardens as we ease into the trip.
Day 2 : Mabamba Swamp & Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
We begin with shoebill tracking in the Mabamba wetlands, working in soft morning light and clean, minimal environments that are ideal for bird photography.
In the afternoon, we continue to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.
Days 3–4 : Murchison Falls National Park
On-foot rhino tracking at Ziwa offers a rare opportunity to photograph white rhinos at eye level.
In Murchison Falls, we shift into open savanna, focusing on larger mammals and wider compositions. A boat safari along the Nile and time at the falls add both wildlife and dramatic landscape opportunities.
Days 5–6 : Kibale Forest
In Kibale, we track wild chimpanzees in dense rainforest. This is a chance to refine shooting in low light and fast-moving conditions while focusing on behavior and expression.
Time in Bigodi Wetland adds additional primates and birdlife in a more open setting.
Days 7–8 : Queen Elizabeth National Park
Game drives in Queen Elizabeth offer classic safari conditions, with opportunities to photograph elephants, lions, and other wildlife in open landscapes.
A boat safari along the Kazinga Channel provides close encounters and layered compositions along the water.
Days 9–10 : Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Gorilla trekking in Bwindi is one of the most powerful wildlife experiences available.
Photographically, the focus is on intimate, emotional images in a challenging but rewarding forest environment. Time with local communities adds a cultural dimension to the story.
Day 11 : Lake Bunyonyi & Pangolin Rescue Center
We visit the Pangolin Rescue Center for a rare opportunity to photograph one of Africa’s most elusive species.
At Lake Bunyonyi, we slow the pace with scenic landscapes and a chance to reset between more intensive wildlife experiences.
Days 12–13 : Lake Mburo National Park
Lake Mburo offers a quieter environment with zebras, giraffes, and open terrain.
This is an ideal place to focus on clean compositions, light, and experimenting with different perspectives, including a night game drive.
Day 14 : Departure
We finish with a guided walking safari, offering one last opportunity to photograph wildlife from a different perspective before returning to Entebbe.
