Ross grew up close to the rugged Cornish coast, in South West England, and quickly developed a deep passion for the outdoors and a fascination for wildlife. His parents introduced him to photography aged 10 and, a year later in 1990, he won his first major photo competition. By the time he won the Young Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition a few years later, he had already decided to pursue a career in photography.

Now aged 38, Ross is among the UK’s leading outdoor photographers. He supplies photography to a wide range of publications and clients worldwide. He is a regular contributor to a number of British photo magazines, including Digital SLR Photography and Practical Photography. Ross is contracted to NaturePL, and the National Trust is among his list of clients. He has enjoyed multiple successes in the prestigious Wildlife Photographer of the Year and in 2008 was on the judging panel for the competition. In 2009 Ross won the British Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition and he has also had commended images in Take-a-View and the International Garden Photographer of the Year competition. He is an Ambassador for Nikon UK (2013 – 2015) and the author of eight photography books, including ‘Digital Macro & Close-up Photography’ and ‘The Landscape Photography Workshop’. Ross was also a member of the 2020VISION photo-team – the largest, most ambitious multi media conservation project ever staged in the UK.

Although Ross is most recognized for his close-up of insects and wild plants, he is also well known for capturing evocative landscape images of the UK’s stunning landscape and coastline. A large proportion of his photographs are taken in the South West of England. This region, and it's natural history, is a constant inspiration to him. Ross and his wife, Felicity, live in north Cornwall, together with their three beautiful children.

At the risk of sounding clichéd, Ross simply hopes that his images will help highlight the beauty and importance of our natural history and the environment on which we depend.

I aim to photograph not the athletes who are in front of my lens, but moreover the soul, culture, community and natural beauty that defines the lives of my subjects.

Creative and physical wanderlust drive me to find unique perspectives and methods by which to capture the evolving world of action sports.

I grew up in Calgary on the outside looking in, a kid on the prairies staring longingly west out my front window at the Rocky Mountains.

For three years I bounced around the perimeter of BC between Victoria, Whistler, and Calgary but now call Whistler my home.

Ray has always been a bit different. He grew up in the Canadian Rocky Mountains raised by crazy hippie parents, Ray was homeschooled… Really he just spent a lot of time outside. At the age of 14, he moved with his family onto a 45-foot sailboat in Trinidad, and set sail on the "Mangwana".

As they sailed around the world, Ray trained in martial arts and took plenty of photos. 40 countries and nearly 7 years later, he dried out a bit in Europe, and started shooting professionally. As a life long athlete and explorer, Ray’s primary focus is on action and adventure.

He splits his time between high profile commercial work, and expeditions to amazing places with intense people. He tries to keep things a bit different. Ray is currently based in Munich, Germany... though you will rarely find him at home.

Pia grew up near Lake Chiemsee in Bavaria, where she also lives. Already as a child, she was out and about with her parents. Whether swimming on the lake or hiking in the Alps: she already felt the deep connection to nature as a little girl.

Photography has always been a great fascination for her. For some years now she is following her passion for nature and landscape photography. Almost every free minute she spends time in the great outdoors, always in search of new, exciting motifs that touch the viewer emotionally. "Emotionality in every moment is like a breath of life. Creating an emotional memory from this fugitive is a gift." This is her credo. A technically perfect picture is not automatically the best. For her the emotions generated by the viewer are definitely in the foreground.

Her work has been presented at various photo competitions in Germany and abroad. Numerous magazines like „DigitalPhoto“, „Naturfoto Magazin“ and more have published her work. In selected workshops, she also passes on her knowledge to other photographers.
