Supreet Sahoo is an enthusiastic birdwatcher and photographer, specializing in Tropical bird photography in Latin America. Their work has earned recognition in esteemed publications such as BBC Earth, National Geographic Spain, and Sanctuary Asia, among others.

Originally hailing from India, Supreet has now established their residence in Austin, US. Their passion for photography ignited when they were handed their father's Yashica point & shoot camera during a family excursion to a national park in Eastern India.

With a rich on-field experience spanning 15 years, Supreet has explored various regions of India. Nevertheless, their primary focus lies in tropical bird photography in Latin America. Collaborating with naturalists and guides in the rainforests of Central and South America, they have diligently built a network, devised conservation strategies, and organized bird photography tours to raise awareness about the diverse wildlife and avian species these countries harbor.

Over their years in the tropical rainforests, Supreet has captured images of more than 3000 bird species, and this list continues to expand. Their ultimate goal is to broaden their portfolio, showcasing the world the beauty and vulnerability of wildlife, emphasizing the crucial need for conservation, awareness, and appreciation.

In line with their vision, Supreet initiated their bird photo tour company, Tropical Photo Tours, in 2017. These tours offer photographers from around the globe the opportunity to witness the diverse birdlife within Latin American rainforests, all while contributing to the well-being of local communities, guides, and the economies of these countries that rely on eco-tourism. Whether it's spotting owls and quetzals on private farms in Costa Rica or discovering Cock of the Rock leks on private farms in Colombia, Supreet ensures that their guests capture the best possible images.

Antarctica, Japan, Greenland, Alaska and many other mind blowing destinations. I have had a beautiful opportunity to travel to these very exotic places with my camera.

When I was finishing high school in 1998, I never thought I would live outside the Finland, but a year after completing my army service I decided to spend a season in Verbier, Switzerland. To make it happen I worked really hard as a courier in Helsinki. Long days and overtime finally paid off and I was able to pack my snowboard and Canon EOS 500 camera and make my dream come true.

After the rent my daily budget was 12 euros to buy food and drinks. It doesn’t sound like much but we ate and partied hard for five months thanks to basic cooking skills and the cheap wine in Switzerland. Whenever we went skiing and snowboarding I brought my camera along. After that first season I sold my first photo to a magazine.

The next winter, I returned to Verbier and decided I wanted to be a professional photographer. I took photos with a few professional skiers and snowboarders and suddenly I was getting deals with brands and magazines. In 2011 I had around 1000 of my photos published in magazines.

I live in Volleges a small village 20 minutes from Verbier. I am married and I have two kids. I hardly take any ski or snowboard photos anymore but it will always be a big part of my life. I spend a lot of time with my family, you could say that I am a house dad now. I still take photos but not as extreme as before.

Filming, directing and producing has become part of my job in the past years. I like new challenges and try to bring my creativity and passion into the work I do. Since I was born in East Helsinki 42 years ago a lot has happened to me but the most important thing, I have learnt is to enjoy my life.

Thrainn Kolbeinsson is a photographer from Iceland, specialising in documenting outdoor activities and adventures, often in difficult conditions with the aim of telling unique and authentic stories. Thrainn has always been fascinated by people, so in 2012 he started studying clinical psychology. However, after five years in university and two years working with patients he realised it wasn't quite for him - he needed to be more active. Primed by his father at a young age he had been interested in photography and storytelling but it wasn't until 2016 that one of his colleagues at the hospital convinced him to buy an old camera. He instantly got hooked and in 2017 he made the leap from psychology into professional photography.

In the beginning his focus was on pure landscapes. Fast forward to today and his focus has shifted almost completely to the natural interactions between people and nature. His favorite type of projects involve people doing challenging things such as photographing polar bears in Nunavut, long distance cold water swimming feats in Iceland, a single push bike ride across Tasmania and other multi day bike-packing challenges. To him, those types of projects offer the perfect combination of human emotions and landscapes, giving him the ability to combine his two passions.

Some of Thrainn's previous clients are National Geographic, Red Bull, Iceland Air, Diamond Aircraft, 66°North and Inspired by Iceland.
