Thrainn Kolbeinsson is a photographer from Iceland, specialising in documenting outdoor activities and adventures, often in difficult conditions with the aim of telling unique and authentic stories. Thrainn has always been fascinated by people, so in 2012 he started studying clinical psychology. However, after five years in university and two years working with patients he realised it wasn't quite for him - he needed to be more active. Primed by his father at a young age he had been interested in photography and storytelling but it wasn't until 2016 that one of his colleagues at the hospital convinced him to buy an old camera. He instantly got hooked and in 2017 he made the leap from psychology into professional photography.

In the beginning his focus was on pure landscapes. Fast forward to today and his focus has shifted almost completely to the natural interactions between people and nature. His favorite type of projects involve people doing challenging things such as photographing polar bears in Nunavut, long distance cold water swimming feats in Iceland, a single push bike ride across Tasmania and other multi day bike-packing challenges. To him, those types of projects offer the perfect combination of human emotions and landscapes, giving him the ability to combine his two passions.

Some of Thrainn's previous clients are National Geographic, Red Bull, Iceland Air, Diamond Aircraft, 66°North and Inspired by Iceland.

Tim is a world renowned photographer and videographer.

HOME BASE: ESTONIA

Timo has been interested in cars and rallying as long as he can remember. As a small boy, he used to go and watch every kind of motorsport event. Timo was born on the island of Saaremaa, the largest island in Estonia, which, among other things, is well known for hosting one of the greatest rallies in Estonia: the Saaremaa Rally. After witnessing the action up close, the passion for rallying took hold in him and has been strong ever since …

As years passed and he continued to follow rallying closely, he also began to enjoy photography, so the next step for him became very logical. Timo clearly remembers the first time he brought his camera to a rally stage and took his first photographs. Using an old film camera, he managed to capture some shots of Markko Märtin, who’s a local rally hero and a World Rally Championship legend. After seeing the images and realizing he could capture the moments and action that made rallying so special, he began to find his route in the world of motorsport photography.

For the last 6 years, Timo has been working as a freelance photographer. Timo, as a photographer, loves being able to experience the variety of light, emotions, different countries and nations, challenges by weather, different road surfaces, cars and action. While it´s a demanding profession, the exhilaration he gets from rally photography firsthand makes it all worthwhile.

Timo has had the opportunity to work for some of the very best in the sport. Some of his clients have been Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT, Volkswagen Motorsport, Hyundai Motorsport, and Citroen Racing. Timo has a long-lasting experience of working closely with different magazines and newspapers across the globe. He has also worked for some of the World Rally Championship drivers Ott Tänak, Jari-Matti Latvala, Hayden Paddon, Dani Sordo, etc.

Currently Timo is looking for new opportunities within the world of photography to broaden his skills and experience in the field.

After having attained great heights on a board for numerous years, Morgan created ALMO Film, a production agency and a creative agency dedicated to content creation. Original productions, music videos, documentaries, and ad campaigns, the ex-professional snowboarder turned director has collaborated with some of the biggest brands, all while preserving his trademark and his distinctive outdoor spirit.

We started with our feet in the snow and in the water, following and filming our high-level athlete friends on their travels. That’s how it all began. We were fortunate and got to travel all over alongside them. We experienced some difficult conditions, discovered new cultures, explored new environments, and made fortuitous relationships. That is what shaped us. Traveling the world, oftentimes in extreme conditions. So, yes, we film extreme sports and we produce films about snowboarding and surfing, but at our core, it was just that – going to explore the world with friends and coming back with stories that filled our hearts and our memory cards. That is what stimulates us, and it continues to do so today with new stories that have nothing to do with sports or the outdoors.
