Born in Vietnam during the Fall of Saigon, Truc Nguyen Allen immigrated to Southeastern US with his mother in 1980. Realizing at a young age that a life in the outdoors was where he wanted to be, he’s been dedicated to adventure sports and the outdoor industry for over 25 years.

Currently living in Seattle, Washington, Truc has been providing photos and video for global to local clients like Rock & Ice and Climbing Magazines, GORE-TEX, Arc’Teryx, Outdoor Research, MadRock Climbing, Nikwax, Traction eRag, and many more. His love for photography and the backcountry is only rivaled by his dedication to family and creating relationships within the community. As a long time athlete in each sport, he also commits a regular amount of his time as board, committee, and staff with local to national advocacy, stewardship, and safety organizations like the American Alpine Club, Access Fund, Washington Climbers Coalition, and the Northwest Avalanche Center. When he can find the time, he also writes music, performing around Seattle, and regular shows for the annual Outdoor Retailer in Denver.

Born in Nagano Prefecture in 1978, he spent his formative years immersed in the counterculture of the 1990s, where his self-expression bloomed. As both an observer and a participant in snowboard culture, he has been shooting snowboarding and its active community around the world since 1998.

For the last 20 years, he has followed this community of people who place snowboarding at the center of their lives, in a kind of "New Tribal Life" - a snow-based tribe that appeared at the end of the 20th century.

Additionally, central themes in his principal works to date include; "Snow Meditation" focusing on the synchronicity of 'snow' and 'mind-heart'; "Memory of Water" focusing on Arctic glaciers with the theme of circulation of water and the memory of life. Throughout his creative journey, he strives to explore artistic expression and seek the harmony between nature, culture and the shining brightness of life on this planet.
