16/5 Arrival on La Palma

Our meeting begins at noon in the beautiful town, the capital of Santa Cruz de La Palma, on the island also nicknamed La Isla Bonita. First, we have lunch together in one of the fantastic local restaurants with local delicacies. This is followed by check-in at our hotel with a pool and preparation of equipment for evening photography. After a short rest, we head together to the top of the island of La Palma and stop at the Roque de los Muchachos observatory to enjoy a magnificent sunset. A night full of photography awaits us. Our goal is to capture the rising Milky Way in a beautiful arc with the dramatic landscape of the volcanic caldera and the local telescopes of the nearby observatory. In the morning, we return to our accommodation and treat ourselves to a well-deserved rest.

17/5 Night Photography over the Calderas

After a night full of stars, you deserve a good rest, and we will treat ourselves to it right at the accommodation in the hotel pool. We will recharge our batteries, prepare our equipment, and set off for another great lunch combined with souvenir shopping in Santa Cruz de la Palma. In the evening, we will leave for another night adventure to the top of the island. We head to a beautiful viewpoint hidden only 20 minutes walk from the parking lot. There we will spend the night photographing the most beautiful scenery. In the morning, we will return to the accommodation.

18/5 Arrival on Tenerife

Goodbye, La Isla Bonita, Hello, Tenerife. Together we set off by ferry to another beautiful island, which hides many natural treasures. After arriving at the port in Los Cristianos, our journey will lead us straight into the heart of the Teide National Park. Our comfortable hotel is located right in the middle of the park, with views of the Pico del Teide volcano and an indoor swimming pool. After dinner, we will head to the nearby rock formations of Roques de Garcia. Here we will spend the whole night taking some of the most interesting compositions and panoramic shots that you can find in Tenerife. Literally a paradise for photographers.

TOUR HIGHLIGHTS

ABOUT THE JOURNEY

The Trans-Himalaya is a landscape that overwhelms visitors – every turn of the road, every twist of a walking trail opens exhilarating vistas of mountain and valley, of fissured crags choked with wild rose and crystal streams lined with willows. This range of habitat supports a commensurate diversity of birds and mammals. In an increasingly nondescript and undifferentiated globe, Ladakh remains a fragment of a world where every region was once unique and distinctive.

The holy grail of mountain wildlife, the Snow Leopard is the least spoken about big cat in India. It has always remained an animal that managed to retain its mythical status, until recently. This expedition into the winter world of Ladakh, focusses on the snow leopard, its mountain habitat and the people who share their spaces with these majestic ghost cats. This journey takes you right into the heart of snow leopard country and places you in the hands of some of the best trackers on the planet.

Driving into Amboseli, I’m instantly struck by the vast plains opening up below the looming silhouette of Mount Kilimanjaro, its snow-capped peak glowing softly in the morning light.
The air is dry, the dust fine, and ahead of me stretch acacia-dotted landscapes where elephants move with majestic grace.
Everywhere I look there is life — grazing zebras, giraffes lifting their necks to nibble leaves, and maybe even lions lounging in the distance.
The wetlands and seasonal swamps in the heart of the park attract flocks of birds, creating a vivid contrast to the arid plains.
As the sun rises higher, the shadows shift, and each turn on the track reveals yet another intimate moment with nature — a mother elephant guiding her calf, a solitary cheetah crossing the horizon.
In that silence, I hear the rustle of grass, the chatter of birds, the distant trumpet of elephants — and I feel very small, yet deeply connected to this wild, rugged beauty.

If there is a place that I hold very close to my heart, it is Amboseli. It is here where I feel I am capable to help photographers the most and that's what each of my Amboseli Workshop aims for.

Helping photographers find their creative niche.

Join Jeroen Van Nieuwenhove to photograph puffins under the midnight sun on a remote island in the Greenland Sea. Every year millions of seabirds come to Grímsey for nesting and houses one of Iceland’s biggest puffin colonies. Together with 24 hours of daylight, there are endless possibilities!
