Replacement Sternum Strap for Mountain Series Pack

Got it on easy by flattening the rail at the top for 1/4” using vise grip needle nose pliers & using vise grip clamp to hold the shoulder strap to my bench top, so I can have one hand to pry the clip with a screwdriver & the other to push it onto the rail with the vise grips. Still have to take care to not slip with the driver & stab your knuckle, but it is way more under control & your hand is further away.

Bought a replacement strap for three bucks and now they don’t stop sending me reviews!

soaked in very hot water for 3-4 minutes before using a wooden chopstick to pry open enough to stick into the track. Once in it works great!

We bought a discount REI brand bag that was missing a it's sternum strap and this was a great fix for a good price.

I found the tiny sternum strap on the Toshi Rework backpack too small, so I looked for a replacement. However, this rail-type sternum strap is hard to find. I stumbled on the F-Stop sternum strap and it fits the backpack perfectly and is much easier to use. .. no more fumbling with a tiny buckle

Replaced the Barbie sized sternum strap on the Rework Toshi 20L bag, fits perfectly

Seems well made and it’s certainly not f-stop’s fault but if you’re looking for a replacement sternum strap for an Osprey pack this won’t fit although it looks similar

One of the sternum straps on my REI pack kept pulling out. It took a little elbow grease, but I was able to swap out both sides with this replacement strap in less than 2 minutes without needing to use any tools. Definitely better than the original strap!
