At Banff Photo Workshops & Tours, we offer truly private one on one guiding and landscape photography workshop experiences in Banff National Park and the Canadian Rockies. We make sure we are at the best place for the best time.

Guiding in Banff since 2011, there is not a spot that we haven't scouted so we know when and where to go. We can look at the sky/clouds before sunrise and know what the clouds are going to do and where we need to be to get the best shots.

We have a passion for teaching to help you learn how to use your camera more efficiently or you what to know what are the best settings to use, we make sure you understand the why we are using the settings so that you can bring knowledge home with you.

Our workshops/tours offerings range from 5 hour half day adventures all the way to full day and multi day adventures up to 10 days.

We are one of the first and longest lasting private workshop landscape photography focused company in the Canadian Rockies.

When you think “Tuscany” - The Val d’Orcia Valley is the place you’re dreaming of! In May, the fields are abloom with poppies and wildflowers, and the rolling hills go on for days

This tour is for the photographer looking for a laid-back, Italian experience focused on making breathtaking photos of the Italian countryside. Over 5 days, we will wake up each morning to capture the rising sun and mist that forms in the valleys. We will stay at a local Agriturismo, a working farm where you will stay in apartment-style living with your own bedroom, have plush amenities like a “pool-with-a-view,” and of course, delicious, homemade Italian food + wine each night. This tour is laid-back, with all shoot locations located within approximately an hour of our accommodations.

We invite you to an exciting photo tour to Morocco "From the Atlantic to the Sahara" showcasing Morocco as a beautiful cocktail of cultures and natural landscapes, sand dunes and snowy peaks of the High Atlas, olive groves and ancient cities.

We have been running this tour for 10 years now, and every year we improve the route, find the best photo points, new interesting filming locations and authentic hotels.

We will spend two and a half days in the silky sand dunes of the Sahara. We will see and photograph camels walking though the desert at sunrise and sunset, and the most adventurous ones will be able to ride them.

We will visit authentic Essaouira, where fishermen bring their catch from the Atlantic in the early morning, take photos of the old Portuguese fort and famous fishing boats in the harbor. Then we'll move on to Marrakesh with its busy bazaars, squares and mosques. We will pass through the mountains of the High Atlas, see snow-covered mountain peaks over 4,000 meters (13000 ft) and beautiful blossoming valleys, and we will also visit the Berber fortress built of clay, and photograph it at dawn and sunset.

Spring landscapes of Socotra.

The island of Socotra, lost in the Indian Ocean, is one of the most amazing places on the planet. Its unique nature, formed by millions of years of isolation, turns into a real blooming paradise in the spring. It is no coincidence that we chose this time for our photo expedition. At this time of year, the island comes to life: harsh rocks and desert plains are covered with lush greenery, and endemic plants bloom, creating fantastic landscapes.

Dragon trees and blooming deserts

Some of the most recognizable symbols of Socotra are dragon trees. Their umbrella-shaped crowns, reminiscent of giant mushrooms, look especially impressive against the blue sky, snow-white clouds and reddish rocks. In the spring, some trees release new shoots, adding rich colors to the landscape. During our photo tour, we will pay special attention to photographing these unique trees.

A photography tour to Papua New Guinea is a truly unique adventure, difficult to organize without experienced guides.

Papua New Guinea is a relatively young country, having gained independence only 50 years ago, and is home to over 800 different tribes, most of whom speak their own languages.

By venturing deep into New Guinea with our camera, we'll find ourselves at the intersection of pristine nature and ancient culture, where people chop branches with a stone axe in one hand and hold a modern smartphone in the other. Photographing tribes in unique landscapes is not just a simple portrait, but a narrative in which man and nature are inseparable.

Imagine a warrior from a primitive tribe, his face adorned with ritual patterns, illuminated by the setting sun against a backdrop of hazy mountain ranges. Or women dancing on the emerald terraces of a tropical forest.

The people of New Guinea haven't yet been overwhelmed by the abundance of tourists and photographers; they're very smiley and happy to be photographed.

We'll attend a festival that brings together people from all over the country. It's one of the most vibrant and colorful folk festivals in Goroka, attracting representatives of hundreds of different tribes from all corners of Papua New Guinea. Next year, the festival will be its 70th anniversary, and the celebrations will be especially grand! Therefore, the photo tour next year, 2026, will be special.

We'll also be photographing stunningly beautiful birds of paradise in the wild. Many of these birds are found nowhere else in the world.

Indonesia is an amazing country located on numerous islands on the border between two great oceans - the Pacific and the Indian.
Some of the islands have been thoroughly explored and densely populated for a long time, and proudly keep historical sites of ancient civilizations. There are stunning volcanoes with magnificent and well recognizable views, and large cities coexist with pristine nature, jungles and alpine forests.

Madagascar is an island of wonders. This is the only place on earth where you can find many species of animals and plants that are not found anywhere else. Madagascar has a unique combination of African exoticism, wild animals, mild climate and friendly population.

Our photo tour will include two parts. At first, we will take pictures of amazing endemic animals and nature of Madagascar, and then we will go to the festival of whales on the Santa Maria island.

By this time, humpbacks from all over Antarctica swim here to breed in the warm coastal waters of the island. We will be able to make unique photos of the impressive jumps of these gigantic animals.

But first - to the east of the island: We will cross the rainforests that cover the steep hill-slopes descending to the coast of the Indian Ocean. In the Andasibe Analamazaotra (Perinet) park you can find a unique fauna, wonderful orchids, and other rare plants, several types of lemurs, reptiles and amphibians. Most of these animals can be found only in Madagascar.

Then we will go to the Western part of Madagascar. We'll be staying in a luxury hotel on the Mozambique channel. Not far from our hotel, there is the famous baobab alley. Majestic trees have been on this road for hundreds of years. Every day graceful girls with jugs on their heads pass by them, hurrying to the market. Peasants drive their carts drawn by humpbacked zebu bulls. Children learn rousing African dances.

In the morning, at dawn, baobabs are covered with thick mysterious mists, and the age-old trees become even more beautiful. The bright African sun beautifully sets in the wild African bush.

Lençóis Maranhenses National Park is a unique landscape of snow-white dunes and turquoise lagoons that change every year under the influence of winds and tropical rains. The subjects for shooting here are truly unique and unrepeatable. And the red-orange silhouette of the Rio Negro River is amazing when you fly over it in a tiny Cessna. We will spend four days in the national park to drive through all the best points from which memorable and unusual views open up. We will stay in comfortable and original pousada hotels, typical for the north of the country, and immerse ourselves in the colorful landscapes of the Brazilian outback.

The dunes are especially good from the air, so take your drones with you.
